Is Change Austin partisan? Does it endorse candidates?
No. The site explains how Austin's civic process works and lays out the issues under debate. It doesn't endorse candidates, parties, campaigns or outcomes.
How do I speak at a City Council meeting?
Council and its commissions take public comment, usually three minutes per speaker, with sign-up on the morning of the meeting. Agendas are posted in advance and list which items allow testimony, and written comment is accepted too. Check austintexas.gov for current procedures.
How do I find my council district and member?
Austin uses a 10-1 system: ten geographic districts plus a mayor elected citywide. Enter your address at austintexas.gov/government to find your district and council member.
How do I register to vote?
Register at least 30 days before an election, online at votetexas.gov. City elections generally run in November, with early voting in the two weeks beforehand. Verify dates and your ballot with official sources before each election.
